Additional Clinical Specialties

Aside from a Clinical Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist,
Linda is also trained as a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT)
specializing in food sensitivities.

Do you suffer from...

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)?
  • Migraine or Headaches?
  • Fibromyalgia?
  • Achy joints?
  • Brain fog?
  • Poor concentration?
  • Low energy?
  • Reactions to different foods you eat?  Even if they are foods you have eaten your whole life without any problems in the past?

There are many possible causes that are at the root of these issues such as SIBO, gut dysbiosis or leaky gut which can contribute to the development of food sensitivities.

Still, adverse reactions to the foods and food-chemicals that you eat can play a significant role in many common illnesses.

Have you tried the Elimination Diet and still have food sensitivities and/or symptoms?

Often when people are experiencing food sensitivities, they are told to try what is known as an "elimination diet".  This approach removes many food groups and specific foods from your diet that are known to trigger food sensitivities or digestive issues.  This often means avoiding:
  • gluten
  • dairy
  • nightshades
  • eggs
  • soy
  • peanuts
  • corn
  • refined sugar
  • caffeine
  • alcohol
  • grains (in some cases, especially for autoimmune diseases)

For some individuals, this can work really well and we have created an Elimination Diet Meal Plan specifically to help support you with this complex protocol.

Many have had great success with this trial-and-error approach and it can be very effective if you do not have the budget to pay for more detailed testing. (Unfortunately, many of the functional tests are not covered by insurance).  However, the Elimination Diet is like a guessing game, and can be a frustrating one at that!  For people who have tried this approach without much success, you are likely reacting to things that do not fall into these main foods and food categories that were eliminated from your diet.

So, while you are going crazy to avoid all of these foods and food groups with this protocol, you may still be eating things that you unknowingly are still reacting to.

In this case, how can you possibly know what foods and food chemicals to avoid unless you test?

MRT and LEAP

MRT refers to the Mediator Release Test.  This is a blood test that determines how your immune system reacts to 176 different foods and chemicals. Based on the results of your test, a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) will work with you to design a meal plan around the foods you are least reactive to and then gradually add in more foods as your gut heals and your symptoms diminish.

This tailored food program is known as the LEAP program which stands for Lifestyle Eating And Performance.  The illustrations below explain in more detail how food sensitivities are identified.

The Science Behind the Mediator Release Test

Simply put, this test offers reliable results that identify which foods are causing the most problems for you based on how much your immune system is reacting to a specific food.  The following information from the lab explains in more detail how this test works.
